Introduction to SEND Reforms

Introduction to the changes in the way children and young people with SEND get supported under new Children and Families Act 2014.

What does SEND Reforms e-learning course include?

Introduce new SEND reforms; familiarise with legislation; find out who is affected; familiarise with new person centred concept; find out about new partnership approach; learn about new business process, Pathway plan and tools; understand what Co-production and EHCP are.


This is an introductory course to some of the main changes in the way children/young people with SEND (SEN and Disability) are supported under the new Children and Families Act 2014. It is based on information that was presented at the Area SEND conferences in June 2014. Courses that cover more of the detail about the new ways of working will be available shortly.


This course is designed to give an overview of SEND reforms and introduce new changes to the education system.

Professionals working with CYP / SEND
